[English]

The present study was conducted to examine the relationship between artificial intelligence and problem-solving skills and to explain the moderating role of protean talent among educational staff. This study employed a quantitative approach, a cross-sectional design, and a questionnaire-based survey method. The statistical population consisted of principals, assistant principals, and teachers at the lower and upper secondary levels in the city of Sanandaj, from whom 220 participants were selected using stratified random sampling. The psychometric quality of the instrument was assessed and confirmed through factor loadings, Cronbach’s alpha, composite reliability, content validity, convergent validity, and discriminant validity. Data analysis was performed using partial least squares structural equation modeling. The results indicated that artificial intelligence had a positive and significant relationship with problem-solving skills, and protean talent significantly moderated this relationship, such that at higher levels of protean talent, the effect of artificial intelligence on problem-solving skills was strengthened. These findings suggest that explaining and enhancing problem-solving skills in educational settings cannot be achieved solely by relying on technological capacities; rather, it requires simultaneous attention to individual readiness and motivational characteristics. The novelty of the study lies in providing an integrative explanation of the interaction between technological capacities and individual capital for a better understanding of problem-solving skills, which may offer practical implications for educational policymaking, the design of developmental interventions, and the strengthening of problem-solving capacity in learning environments.
