Abstract

This study aimed to validate the Computational Thinking (CT) questionnaire among engineering students at the University of Tabriz. A descriptive survey design was employed, utilizing random cluster sampling to select a sample of 400 students from the university's student population. The data collection instrument utilized was a 29-item CT questionnaire, comprising five components, with a 5-point Likert scale. Data analysis was conducted utilizing exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis techniques, executed through the software SPSS (version 26) and AMOS (version 26). Confirmatory factor analysis revealed a satisfactory fit of the model, indicating alignment between the theoretical framework and empirical data . Exploratory factor analysis of 29 items revealed five underlying factors, namely creativity, algorithmic thinking, interaction, critical thinking, and problem-solving. This study provides empirical evidence for the validity and reliability of the Computational Thinking CT questionnaire as a robust assessment tool for measuring computational thinking
CT skills among Iranian engineering students.
