Abstract

This study aimed to investigate the psychometric properties of the Farsi version of the inner Strength-Based Resilience Inventory (iSBRI) in students. In this descriptive survey study, 350 adolescents (180 boys and 170 girls) from the 11th district of Tehran were selected using convenience sampling method and responded to the inner Strength-Based Resilience Inventory, the Mental Toughness Questionnaire-Revised and the Positive and Negative Affect Schedule. The results of the confirmatory factor analysis statistical method empirically supported the unidimensional structure of the inner Strength-Based Resilience Inventory. Also, the correlation between the inner Strength-Based Resilience Inventory with mental toughness and positive and negative affect in students supported the criterion validity of the inventory. The internal consistency coefficients of the Resilience Inventory was 0/88. Overall, the results of this study, by replicating the unidimensional model of the inner Strength-Based Resilience Inventory in Iranian adolescents, while defending the sound of its underlying theoretical perspective, provided convincing evidence in support of the acceptability of the technical characteristics of the Persian version of the inventory.
